Fuel pump in '94 skylark

Are the fuel injectors squirting fuel ? Does the engine have compression ? How many miles on the vehicle ? Timing chain an gears , these are know to wear an jump time . Do a compression test .

Do you mean the warning lights stay on ?
Has anyone checked the sending unit in the tank ?

Hello hakunaracing: My name is Roger and I will help. The fuel pump is located inside of the fuel tank. You must drop the fuel tank in order to change the pump. once you drop the tank you must remove the lock ring. once removed lift up the sendor unitand remove from the tank. You will need to rotate the pump to remove from the tank. Remove the pump and strainer. The strainer will pop off with the help of a tug or pry with a screw driver. Replace the pump and install a new strainer. Also be sure to replace the fuel filter. Do this to make sure you do not void the pump warranty. Reinstall pump unit in the tank. reinstall tank to car. The fuel pump is in the gas tank attached to the fuel level sending unit.

Could be a faulty Mass Air Flow Sensor, Idle Air Control Motor, just needs a tune-up, bad fuel pump, clogged fuel filter, bad spark plug, faulty computer... hard to tell. Take it to a shop to figure out what is wrong with it and if you are able, fix it yourself, otherwise let the shop fix it.

i would pull a spark plug and see if its wet(fuel) sounds flooded but that is the effect not the cause . need to check fuel pressure to find the cause of the problem.
