If the ignition normally only locks with the vehicle in park position, then check the switch on the gear lever mechanism is working. If not, then you'll have to jiggle and wiggle that key out or replace the ignition lock.
Lower the back seat and crawl into the trunk and see what the latch is doing when you activate the key fob. the trunk lid will have to be open to enable any repairs. Also an emergency release cable is probably visible (yellow handle) inside the trunk and will Open the trunk lid.
This is probably the ignition lock cylinder worn out or getting old. The TDM is most likely not locking the key in, but new cars are pretty tied into themselves. For now, just try leaving the key in. if it is dooor lock you have remove door trim , and insert key in hole and find some pressing notch is there on back side of lock , turn the key and keep pressing that notch and pullout barrell, it will come out , in same way you can fix new barrell.
