In my '94 Rodeo, when i turn the key, nothing happens-- no noise what-so-ever. After checking just about everything, we found out that there is not power going to the starter and no power going to the starter fuse. We checked the ignition and the neutral safety switch and they were both fine-- so was the starter. what could possibly be the reason that my car wont start?

Have you checked your Battery? Next with the car in park, check for voltage at the from the battery to ground,. If the battery is good and there is no power make sure that you have a good ground from the batter to the chassie.

Believe it or not I have found that one key will start my 2009 Ford escape and the other will not-even after replacing the battery in the key. I though it was a dead battery or possibly the starter but it is the key. I haven't figured out how to get the key repaired. Thank God I had a spare one!

You didnt list the type of car this is, the most common thing that causes this is the starter, i just had a saturn, the customer had the same problem we told her it may be the starter but cant be 100% sure until it actted up, she didnt want to replace it unless we were sure, so we kept and drove the car around for 5 days and finally the last day it didnt start and it was the starter , same problem turn key and nothing no noise and no start, i would have the starter replaced and go from there, its a mater of time before the car just wont start, hope this is helpful.

When you crank the engine are you getting a full 12 volts positive at the solenoid switch on the top of the starter?

Have you got a full 12 volts negative to the switch?

Also, check the earthing strap from chassis to engine is good.

2001 isuzu rodeo doesnt always start. new

Dirty terminals, happens all the time. Did you have the battery tested? Or just know it's OK? Did you check the water? How about the electrolytes? Get the terminals cleaned off with a wire brush, and scrape the insides, make sure they are tight. I have replaced more batteries this week, must be the weather. One was stone dead, 5 volts and still started the car?? Couldn't believe it, good car. The other 2 were dead with 12+ volts but wouldn't start anything, both got new terminals, and both got cleaned up. NO problems. Check it out. Lastly, the solenoid in the starter could be bad if everything else checks out, whack it with a hammer while turning the key, if it jumps, you found it.

2001 isuzu rodeo has intermittent starting problems

check battery cables & terminals for tightness & corrosion.also check at starter.check starter bolts & actual starter for looseness.if no problems found your starter may be on its way out.next time it happens hit starter with hammer or heavy object if it starts right up get ready to replace it.good luck

Turn key, nothing happens

It could be the park/neutral switch, next time it doesn't start try wiggling the shifter in park while turning the key, or shift to neutral and see if that will work. if that doesn't change the problem I would replace the ignition switch.

96 Isuzu Rodeo electrical problems (Car wont start)

It has to be an electrical connection as you say. The Anti Lock Brake system light is probably just a deprograming of the computer. Due to the electrical problem. Have you check for current at the starter ? Have sombody turn the key as if starting it. Then with a test light check for current at the starter connections. This will give you an idea whre to look for an open circuit or short.
