First you need to verify that your truck goes into 4X4 HI or LOW; try putting it in 4X4 Low you will be able to tell by feeling the truck engage and not being able to go very fast.
If it doesn't then it could be the lock out selenoid; I had this problem when I bought my truck from my friend. Luck for me it was still under the extended warranty. If the truck goes into 4X4 then it could be a bad bulb. Good Luck
