Fuel gauge stopped working - 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 Club Cab

It is likely to be the fuel sender unit that supplies data to the gauge. It is located inside the fuel tank.

check your fuel pump relay. if not that, then it's your fuel pump. the gas gauge is in the fuel pump, so if your fuel pump stopped working, your gas gauge won't work

When you have a check engine light, there are codes stored. That's where you start--with the codes

The gauge circuit runs through the pump fuse. Most likely the sending unit has failed inside the tank. :-(

if the fuse blew for the fuel gauge, it would keep ALL of your gauges from working, It sounds like your fuel gauge sending unit.

you need to change the fuel gauge, fuel gauge goes bad so does the temp gauge, runs thru fuel gauge then to temp

i presume it was an all in one set up, pump and gauge, check you have the gauge adjusted to the right setting and plugged in around the fuel pump.

can you tell me why does the gas thing does not go up when i fill up

There could be two problems here:
1. That buoy floating tank is not working properly
2. That the electrical system that fails to submit the dashboard.
