Low fuel lite keeps coming

-   i just bought a 2001 tahoe and filled it up with gas,then the low fuel light came on and it reads empty??-   Guest

-   I have a 1998 GMC Jimmy. The rear license plate lights were not working. I discovered that they had become unplugged under the rear bumper, I plugged them in, started the car, the lights worked but now the gas guage reads empty (it is 3/4 full), the gas warning light is on, and the battery warning light in on. I've checked the fuses, the alternator seems to be working o.k.. I'm baffled.-   mcowden

-   My rear license plate lights were off, I found they had been disconected under the bumper. I connected them, started the car, they work but now my gas guage reads empty, the empty lights on, and the battery warning light is on. The alternator seems o.k., unplugging the lilcense lights did not fix the problem, either. I've cheked all the fuses. I'm baffeled! -   Guest
