Hi and welcome to FixYa!

As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you take the car in to a reputable mechanic and conduct an engine scan. If the check engine light is on, something is surely wrong. During the diagnostic, it will list the trouble codes and by then you'll know what part needs replacement. This is wiser than taking a guess on what to replace.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

1998 Toyota Corolla CE. Why the cigarette lighter quit working on it?

Check the fuse. Check the element with a digital voltmeter set to ohms. The wear out because it is just a coiled heating element. Borrow one from another vehicle to test.

1998 Toyota Corolla CE drives fine and then suddenly it starts to hesitate.

Depending on the miles, the fuel filter might be getting clogged. Other then that, it will probably have to have an analyzer on it. Wish you luck with that, it can be so frustrating.

I have 1998 Toyota Corolla Automatic CE. Check light is on. What is this.

The "check engine light" or MIL (malfunction indicator lamp) is telling you that the power train computer is holding a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) in memory. These codes set when a problem with one of the many engine sensors is detected or engine parameters exceed expected programmed limits. A code reader tool is needed to read out these codes and explain the definitions. Most major auto parts stores will read out your codes for free.

Even if your car is running fine, do not ignore this light. In many states, your car will not pass an emissions test with the light on. Many faults that will set codes are related to proper emissions control. But many faults that cause emissions problems also cause poor gas mileage. So if you ignore the light you may very well be wasting precious gas dollars.

Auto toyota automatico ce 1.8L 2007 alumbro check

Hi, I believe their is a TSB for your model. You'll want to check with the dealer because if the ECM needs replacement it should be covered under the emissions warranty. More info @ P0607

Corolla kicks/jolts when shifting gears.

I am trying to understand your problem. Check engine mounts. Have a driver in the car, hood open. Start car, foot on brakes, shift from park to reverse and back again. Shift through all gears, look for unusual engine movements around engine mounts area. Left foot on brakes, press gas in drive and reverse;watch for excessive engine movements. Be careful as you perform these steps. You may also want to check drive axles. Keep me updated.
