I have a 04' Chev, 6.0L. Engine light came on, fault code came up PO332. I'm afraid the KS's are under the intake. Is there any way to test the KS to see if it is bad, or is there another problem that is causing the working KS to send an error to the computer. What causes the 332 fault, is the KS bad or is it providing a reading from an engine knock? The O'Reilly computer I used said "KS 2" "Circuit low imput, Bank 2"

    Hello,

Are there any other codes other than the P0332?

    Regards,

P0332 - Knock Sensor 2 Circuit Low Input (Bank 2)

The knock sensor is attached to the cylinder block. It senses engine knocking using a piezoelectric element. A knocking vibration from the cylinder block is sensed as vibrational pressure. This pressure is converted into a voltage signal and sent to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) or Engine Control Module (ECM).

Causes for P0332 DTC:
- Knock sensor circuit short to GND.
- Knock sensor circuit short to PWR.
- Knock sensor circuit open.
- Damaged knock sensor.
- PCM or ECM failure.

Solutions:
- Repair or resecure the harness or connector.
- Replace the knock sensor.

Your best bet is to just replace the knock sensor for sensor 2 bank 2. Call Auto Zone with part number SU1282 this is the OEM replacement.

The knock sensor looks like this:

2000 Jaguar xkr rear side runnning lights are out. new bulbs but still will not come on. code PO 328 engine error code also

You have 2 faults here, the first is your engine code:

Three possible causes of the P0328 are:

1. Poor sensor contact with cylinder block
2. KS to ECM sense circuit: high resistance, open circuit, short circuit to high voltage
3. KS failure

as for the rear running light it would either be a bulb or connection, double check these conditions.

Valves clacking changed the oil pump and lifters but still clacking what could be the problem

Do you know what a knock sensor is ?
The knock sensor (KS) system enables the control module to control the ignition timing for the best possible performance while protecting the engine from potentially damaging levels of detonation. The control module uses the KS system to test for abnormal engine noise that may indicate detonation, also known as spark knock.
If the control module has determined that knock is present, it will retard the ignition timing to attempt to eliminate the knock. The control module will always try to work back to a zero compensation level, or no spark retard. An abnormal KS signal will stay outside of the noise channel or will not be present. KS diagnostics are calibrated to detect faults with the KS circuitry inside the control module, the KS wiring, or the KS voltage output. Some diagnostics are also calibrated to detect constant noise from an outside influence such as a loose/damaged component or excessive engine mechanical noise
Do you know what spark knock is or pinging ? EGR valve problem ! Is your oil pressure low ? do you have a gauge or a oil light ! If it where an oil pump problem the light would be lit ! Is your check engine light lit ? How many miles on the vehicle ? Timing chain an gears , jumped time !

WHAT IS ENGINE CODE PO332?

The knock sensors (KS) produce an AC signal when specific frequencies are detected. When the engine operates, the powertrain control module (PCM) learns a minimum and maximum frequency of noise of normal engine operation. The KS system monitors both knock sensors in order to determine if knock is present. If the KS system determines that excessive knock is present, the PCM retards the spark timing based on the signals from the KS system. The PCM then retards the timing until no knock is present. When the PCM detects a frequency that is less than or more than a defined range, DTC P0327 will set for a failure in KS 1 which is located on bank 1 on the drivers side of the engine or DTC P0332 will set for a failure in KS 2 which is located on bank 2 on the passenger side of the engine.
But, the problem doesnt have to be the sensor, it could be bad ignition coil, bad spark plugs, bad/no/too much Fuel.......

I have an engine code PO332 knock sensor 2 circuit low imput bank 2 what is this problem .the car is a 2001 gmc yukon xl .

The most likely cause of your code is a bad rear knock sensor. You should check the knock sensor wiring harness for corrosion. But if that checks out the sensor will have to be replaced. The knock sensor is under the intake manifold, although it's not too difficult to remove. Both knock sensors should be replaced along with the wiring harness, just because of labor involved in gaining access to the sensors. You could try clearing the code, it may stay off for a long time.

I have a code # po332 on my 2005 chevy silverado, I cleared it and the code reappeared after two weeks. I use 92 octane fuel and do not hear any knocking noises coming from the engine.

This engine is made to run on 87 octane.Sometimes when using a higher octane can cause a check engine light or other driveability problems. If you don`t think it is your knock sensors then get some used ones at the salvage yard and try them. They are under the upper intake plenum.

Water Pump replacement and then PO332 code ~ knock sensor

Sounds like you have several problems. The P0332 sounds like you got your knock sensor wet and needs to be replaced. When you do make sure you replace the wire harness also and that you seal around both sensors. Also remove the back near fire wall foam under the intake mani to let the water that collects evap out.
