Stop by any good auto parts store IE: Autozone, Advance, etc... and have them do a FREE OBII faucet scan. They;ll be able to tell you what's triggering those lights.

Why is my Ford territory oil pressure light intermittently coming on

Good Day

Firstly check your all Oil pressure switches if they are not faulty.
Remove your electrical oil pressure switch and fit a mechanical oil pressure switch and start the motor:Oil Pressure reading should be between 4-8 bar on the gauge.
Motor must be at working temperature.
If Oil Pressure is below 4 bar their could be a problem on your crankshaft.Depending on milage.
Your Big end and Main bearings determine your oil pressure.
If the engine milage is high this can cause oil pressure fluctuation as their is wear on the bearings.

I HAV EA 2002 FORD EXPLOYER. IT'S MAKING A TICKING NOICE FROM UNDER NEATH. 1 MECHANIC LISTENED AND LOOKED BRIEFLY SAID IT'S INSIDE THE ENGINE. HE SAYS THE FORDS THIS YEAR DO HAVE ENGINE FAILURE AND...

ticking is usually from the rocker arms either sticking or wearing out. These parts need a constant suppy of oil to keep them going. You may have sludge built up in your engine causing this. My reccomendation is to bring it to a garage that can do a oil treatment and oild change. Put high milage oil in it. If it keeps ticking after wards you may have to have the rocker lifter adujusted or replaced.

Overheating engine, no leakage, some white smoke when cold,

1 st drain the oil if excessive for it will just aggitate in the oil pan and it will not pump through the oil pump resulting in internal engine damage. The belt should be replaced every two years on any Northstar motor. A tune up is also recomended as well with high milage

I lose my oil on a regular, I have changed my oil filter every two months

you might want to keep track of your milage an see how often or after how many miles you loose a quart of oil or more, also i see is a 2001 calavler, look for oil leaks onthe engine, specially around the valve covers and see if you have any oil spots on your parking spots, one way to check is leave a piece of carboard under the car when you get home and check it the next day when you leave, you will find out if it leaks oil while park or you may loose it while you driving.

the second advise is maybe go to a thickher oil since you have a use car, and am sure you have high milage, choose the right oil to depending on the climarte an your milage,
like one of my cars the label said 5w-30 but was consuming too quick so I went to 10w30 lasted longer was thicker oil but the car gave me no problems all it does allows to lub the engine better
when the engine is new the oil is light, and when the engine gets high milage some ppl go to thicker oil to get better compression .

good luck leave some feedback!

1991 toyota 4 runner oil usage - what's normal

Too much oil could make your oil pressure get too high and could blow out some seals. I would pay the $ and have someone drain it back to the level it should be at or it might cause more problems down the road.

That's my opinion.

Oil on the engine and popping noise when turning

You dont state the engine size. A ny oil leak whether dripping on the floor or remaining on the engine should be investigated as there should NOT BE ANY WET OIL LEAK. Grime is another story and should be cleaned appropriately. The "popping " noise you're hearing turning slowly sounds likw a bad CV ( constant velocity ) joint on the front axle. There are 2 cv joints on each front axle. Possilble leaking boot throwing grease near the back of the front wheel to indicate which joint is noisy. Check the B/U light fuse. Hope this helps.
