My experience with frequently-used vehicle remotes (any make) is this:
1. When relatively new or in good condition, if remote stops working, the button battery inside is dead or too low.

2. If battery is new, & remote still doesn't work, a solder joint on the circuit board inside may have come loose or broken.(You can try re-soldering using a low-heat pencil iron & thin RESIN-core solder -- even if you're not great at it, what do you have to lose?)

3. It's rather unusual for even an older, well-used remote to simply lose its programming.If this is the problem, it may be cheaper to buy a new after-market remote (or pair of remotes) that you can program yourself (only works with some brands & years of vehicles, so READ THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THEIR WEBSITE BEFORE BUYING AN AFTER-MARKET REMOTE), instead of going to the dealer for a normally HIGH-priced programming job.

4. Used OEM remotes that match yours exactly (check the part # of your remote & the used one you're considering) can often be purchased from a local auto wrecker (now called "auto recycler") for cheap ($5 to $10 is common), but will need programming.I always go thru the many they have, looking for one that appears new or like-new.

5. IF YOU MUST GET PROGRAMMING FROM A DEALER, usually it's the SAME PRICE whether you have 1 remote or several remotes/keys programmed at the same time.Since dealer programming is pricey, I always have 3-4 remotes and/or chip-keys programmed at the same time.(My dear wife loses chip-keys & remotes from time-to-time, so I keep a few spares on-hand.I've found inexpensive after-market chip-key blanks at some key cutters and/or auto parts stores, altho they still require programming after the copy is cut from yours.)

CAUTION:Some OEM anti-theft systems require that ALL remotes & chip-keys be programmed/re-programmed at the same time, whether they're original, used or new.Determine this IN ADVANCE, so you know what you're faced with.The good news is that for those vehicle manufacturers, dealers normally don't charge more to program/re-program multiple remotes and/or chip-keys, if all are being done AT THE SAME TIME.

6. If all else fails & you MUST buy a new OEM remote (which will require programming), try 2 things -- First, see if the dealer will make you a package deal on buying the remote (or 2 remotes, or a remote & a chip-key) AND doing the programming for a lower combined price.Second, it may be cheaper to buy a new OEM remote from a dealer who's had one in stock for a long time & wants to blow it out (or buy from online OEM seller) & then pay the normal programming price.See the CAUTION above.

There are lots of options here, so hopefully something is useful to you.

you will need a laptop with a ecm program editor program. Cheapest way is to find a speed shop and have it done. If it is a later model car it is possible that the service dealer could do it for you

Incorrect. As long as it IS/WAS original factory alarm & key fob previously programmed to you Hyundai, it is the easiest to program yourself.
There are multiple different sites listing many ways to program, but the majority suggest you close all doors, insert key into ignition, turn only to the ACC on ignition switch but do not start, then hold down the unlock/open button on fob until the alarm hazard lights blink & you are done.

PCM main computer?

It has to be flashed with a module between a professional
scan tool & the scan tool module

You need to purchase a manufacturer subcription or have a
dealer do it

You have to have your Vehicle ID Block installed & all the latest
updates since it came off the assy line

You do not have to program the PCM if it was not replaced

You have to program new seat & door modules

So no programming just to diagnose & resolve code
related issues

Try this procedure...

KEY FOB PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS
Transmitter Programming
No Tools Required
In the event that a transmitter is lost, program the old & the new transmitters into the memory of the remote control door lock receiver. Up to 4 transmitters may be programmed.


Important
Once the keyless entry receiver enters the programming/diagnostic mode, the programming of the first transmitter erases all previous transmitter programming information. You must then program all of the transmitters.

Program only 1 vehicle remote control door lock receiver at a time. If u program multiple receivers simultaneously, the same transmitter could possibly be programmed to more than 1 remote control door lock receiver.


Perform the following steps:

Sit in the vehicle driver is seat. (actually it’s much ezr from the front pass seat)
Remove the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder.
Close all of the vehicle is doors.
Remove the MALL PGM fuse from the fuse panel. Refer to Electronic Diagnosis in Body & Chassis.
Turn the ignition lock cylinder to the ACC position.
Turn the ignition lock cylinder OFF, then back to ACC within 1 second.
Open & then close any vehicle door. You will hear a chime when the remote control door lock receiver enters the programming/diagnostic mode. If u do not hear a chime, start again at step 1.

Important
After 7 seconds, you may hear a chime confirming successful synchronization. After approximately 14 seconds, you will hear a chime confirming successful programming.


Press & hold the transmitter LOCK & UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for 14 seconds.
Repeat step 8 in order to program each additional transmitter.
Remove the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder.
Install the MALL PGM fuse back into the fuse panel. Refer to Electrical Diagnosis in Body & Chassis.
Validate that all the transmitters that were programmed operate properly. Refer to Keyless Entry System Operation

You'll find the prices on eBay very reasonable for key blanks & remote units. If you have the transponder key, you'll still save money buying the key elsewhere & having it programmed at your dealer.

eBay; 2004 & 2005 transponder keys for 12.00 I saw others for less & 2006-2009 for $16.00 roughly at this item #300390540310 comes with programming instructions if you have 2 keys, & if you don't it provides you the key at a better price & you will have to have a locksmith or the dealer cut it & program it. I can attest to the fact that you will save money by buying your key somewhere other than at the dealership even if you have to go there for the programming. Call your local dealer & ask them how much to cut & program your key & check with another dealer to see how much for the key & cut & program. good luck

aye they programed the bcm wrong with the wrong codes, its a one time Charley program ROM chip.
take it back to the dealer and &^%#@%$^&

You need to program the system,it's probally in theft deterrent mode & disables the starter.To program your new remote locate the diagnostic connector under the drivers side of dash.To program the new remote Jumper a paper clip between the #4 & #8 terminal you will hear the locks cycle & the trunk will pop.While the terminalsv are jumped hold down lock & Unlock on the remote at the same time until you hear the locks cycle again,remove the jumper wire or paper clip & you should be good.
