2007 Escalade EXT - I imported my 2007 Escalade EXT from the USA to the UK as new. It comes with standard HID lights and failed its first MOT test at 3 years old due to misaligned lights. Cadillac in the UK have told me that you can't adjust the HID lights which is why the European spec has Halogen lights instead. As a temporary fix I have stickers on my lamp lenses but does anyone know how you can adjust the beam on Escalade HID lights? As a left hand drive, the lights kick off and up to the right which is fine if you drive on the right but I need them to kick off and up to the left! If they can't be adjusted, do you know if the Platinum Edition front light set is interchangeable with the '07 EXT and if so, are these adjustable? I don't want to downgrade my lights to Halogen ones. Thanks - Gary

in UK passenger is LEFT side. so please say left /right

• low beam
• high beam
• and high beam flaster switch

OR all 3 dead. selections dead.
and all other electric things work and car drives ok.
yes the 2 orange are parking lamps. all sides/corners and ends of car good parking lamps.

this car uses the BCM body brain to run front lamps
and does so using 4 outputs. 2 low and 2 high each side.

some of these cars have HID lamp options.
and are totally unique, for head lamps! IF TRUE.

standard bulbs are H3 TYPE. AND ARE NOT HID.

Do not touch the glass of High Intensity Discharge (HID) or halogen bulbs with fingers or other possibly oily surface. Reduced lamp life will result.

HID install 1 step says
Place the igniter on the HID lamp. Do not at this time connect the igniter electrical connector. It will make it unable to twist the igniter to the closed position.

the igniter can be bad.
HID uses D2S bulbs only .

MOT = UK SLANG FOR SMOG TEST?
NISSAN DEALERS IN UK BUGGED OUT? (LEFT THE COOP)
GEE ALL OURS ARE STILL IN USA. as are the parts. most are for sure smog or safety parts, and haz is that.

CHECK ALL FUSES
SCAN THE PCM/BCM USING A UK, EOBD SCAN TOOL
SEE ERRORS FIX THEM ALL.
OR BUY A NEW HAZ SWITCH AT THE DEALER.
or go to any car repair shop in UK ask them to fix it? why not?

Time to take it into the dealer for service.

You need a scan tool that can relearn the Steering angle sensor since you changed it's operating parameters.

open the hood of your Escalade, unscrew the mounting screws on the top of the headlight assembly

slide the headlight forward

unplug the electrical connector from the back of the head light

Turn the headlight counterclockwise and remove it from the housing assembly

Install the new HiD headlight, installation is the reverse of removal

A battery can read 12 volts yet be weak in cold cranking amps, try a jumpstart and if that works have your battery load tested. Im betting your gonna find the battery fails the load test, meaning it needs to be replaced..

The correct procedure is to put in the original key to the On posistion.
Remove and insert the second within 10 seconds. Turn to the On. Wait like 7 seconds. Then remove the key, reinsert to test.
The key (no pun intended) here is to wait for the security light to go out.

Put in your original key or the one the car already knows. Wait for the light to go out (the little car with the padlock) and then turn the key off, swap in the key you wish to program, then wait again for the security light to go out. You are done.

Recommend to have codes pulled via scan tool. Lights can come on for many different things. Possible bad ignition switch assembly can cause both check engine light and security light to come on.

Thanks for the answer. Funnily enough I posted the question in 2007 not in 2017. I had sold the car long time ago.

In the end I purchased new RHD headlamps as nothing else was allowable.
