My 98 Cavalier overheated the other day so we stopped on the side of the road to let it cool down but when we tried starting it up again it wouldn't. So we towed it back home to check it. It seems that there is anti-freeze and engine oil mixed everywhere.

Hopefully its just a hose and the oil was from a small leak. The engine oil mixed in is pretty scary so i wish you the best and hope you wont have to go shopping for a new engine...

Why does my 93 Honda Accord run fine and then dies going down the road and will start again and die again?

There is a black fuel relay way up under the top left driver side dash that breaks its main wire solder connections on the circuit board under over-heat conditions. Resolder that relay. Starting fluid will show that you have lost fuel delivery under no start conditions. You can use the breather hose from the valve cover for this test.

Was driving down the road and it just went dead. It's getting gas and fire but will not crank.

I encountered a similar problem on a chev 4cyl with a coil pack ignition ( no distributor). It would run for a while and suddenly die out and wouldn't restart until a 10 to 20 min. cooling period. It turned out to be a crankshaft position sensor going bad. On this engine it was located in the engine block under the ignition module on the firewall side.

is the car running hot? some cooling fans never come on going down the road because the air comjng through the front of the vehicle keeps the car cool enough that it doesn't need to come on. but if it is overheating then you may want to check the cooling fan relay.

Cavalier dies

you need to find the fuel pressure release around the fuel rail press the little tab when the car dies. If there is no fuel coming out from that point, your fuel pump is going.
