Are you one of those people who TOP OFF the tank when filling up?

When the EVAP recovery system soak with few ounce of gasoline......the trap vapor will take few days escape.

EVAP system is design to handle fuel vapor. Few ounce of gasoline can damage the fuel vapor recovery relay and decrease the service live of the recovery lines.

=========

You can accelerate the process by locating the charcoal canister (near the nose of the car and same side as your gas filler door)

MOVE the car to outdoor.

Disconnect the EVAP line and let it air out by itself.

DO NOT introduce any heat source or fan to speed up the process.

Reconnect this EVAP hose and use a small amount of starting fluid at the intake manifold.

1972 olds 98 455ci starts and runs fine when its cold but once i've driven it for awhile it starts sputtering like its running out of gas

sounds like a vapor lock. older cars needed a set of points . they kept firing times in sync with fuel delivery , valves opening/closing try that.

1986 (11/85) z24 model 720 Pickup. Vehicle has only 75K, which means it sits for weeks between usage. Terrible bucking and stalling, usually under heavy load (steep mountain roads). Sometimes can run...

Try running a good fuel system cleaner through it. Sitting alot allows condensation to form in fuel tank. Also condensation forms on plugs, etc... Pill plugs and inspect, but do run system cleaner regularly.

Where is the fuel pump fuse located on a 1992 Oldsmobile 98 Regency? The Olds runs fine except after it's on the road for approx 2 hrs it starts to lose power even if you put the gas pedal to the floor....

hi,
It is under the dash on the passenger side. There are a few fuses and 8 or 9 relays
You have to remove the underside cover to gain access to the electrical panel.

good luck!!!!!

I have a 1986 oldsmobile ciera. It started and ran just fine yesterday, and now it will turn over and has power but it wont start. Its almost as if it isnt getting any fuel.

1st check for spark at two different plug wires. then press the schraeder valve on the fuel rail and see if fuel runs out or trickles out. then use a test light at the fuel injector wire harness. unplug the connector and test for voltage on one side. then clamp to hot(positive) and check for blinking ground while cranking.Make sure fuses are good

Battery light randomly comes on

Sounds like the voltage regulator is starting to fail. Your voltage regulator is built in to the alternator, so you should replace your alternator before it dies completely and leaves you stranded somewhere.
