HOW DO YOU REMOVE A 1998 DODGE AVENGER EXTIEROR DRIVERS SIDE DOOR HANDLE

drivers side kickpanel or drivers side dash on side of dash when you open drivers door door covers it

If the door will not open from either side, the latch may have failed.
You may have to take the door panel off and check the latch, which will be tough with the door closed.

just pier it out with a screw driver it is no good so it does not matter how it comes out,but the new one needs to be installed carefully

First remove the armrest then pry the bottom clips out and work your way up both sides to the window. Then just lift the panel up off the door.

Shouldn't have to. the bezel that holds the buttons pops out. pry it from the bottom/rear part of the bezel and it will come out.

This is a very mechanical fix. Open the door. Remove whatever screws you can find on the panel, sometimes they are hidden behind little plastic "buttons". Most larger screws are around the armrest and door pull handle. After that the door panel is just pryed off a little at a time. Start at the bottom corner away from the hinge, carefully insert a large screw driver and pry corner. Once you get one corner up you can use a bright light to kinda see what other places you have to pry up. Try to pry in a even pressure, put screwdriver close to hold down pin. These pins are intended to be used once so many times after you get it all open many of the pins will be broken. I've found you can get replacements at autoparts store (red packages called "help") Lowe's has a selection of unique fasteners. With panel off its simply mechanical know how to replace handle. I've never seen a diagram or anything you just have to be good mechanically. Good luck!

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything inside the door

Start by disconnecting your negative battery cable. Then you need to locate and remove the screws that hold your interior door handles in place (they may be hidden by snap in, or snap on clips). Once you remove the screws that hold the interior door handles, remove any wire connectors to the handles. The interior door panel itself, is held on by snap in clips, and you will need a small pry bar to pull them from the door (try to gat as close to, or directly under the clips to prevent them from tearing out of the door panel). Once the clips are removed from the door, pull the panel upward to remove it from the door. After you gain access to the inside of the door, you will see a area for your new door handle to set in place and operate the door latch. Place your new door handle in place and tighten the nuts that retain it. If has a electronic key code, plug in the electrical connector.

Install everything in reverse.

I think that is only available as the control arm assembly. Check whth you local parts store.

happened in my 1997 dodge avenger, go ahead and replace the complete turn signal behind the plastic on the columb, very easy to do, 3 screws under the columb, 2 screws on the black plastic side of the turnsignal swithch facing the drivers side door, unplug, put in new or one out of junk yard, thats what i did and it fixed no problem...
