Resetting the airbag light on your Chevy Silverado should be easy to do. Follow this video to watch it being done in a Chevy Silverado. To start with, you will:
Put the key into the ignition
Turn the key to the "on" position
Wait for the airbag light to turn on
Wait to continue until the airbag light turns off (around seven seconds)
Repeat the same steps twice more
Turn on your engine

I doubt that the two faults are related. Are you absolutely sure it is the airbag light and not the engine light. Typically an airbag light comes on when there is a fault in the airbag system, which has nothing at all to do with the engine system. If it wont start and you have plenty of fuel in it, then you are going to have to get it towed to a repairer for them to check it over.
There is a problem with the airbag system. The light is telling you to have the system serviced. Much like the check engine light, they come on when the computer sees a problem.
This needs to be done very soon because when there is a problem with the system the airbag will not go off like it should and can be very unsafe. A tech can plug a computer in to the car and get trouble codes pointing them in the right direction to do the repair.
If the airbag light is on something in the system is broken. Go to AutoZone or similar and have them scan the airbag system for codes. My guess would be a faulty seat sensor or a faulty seat belt sensor

Do you want to know if the airbag was disabled or if the sensors were disabled? But basically, if the impact was from the side or rear, the airbag won't deploy. If the impact was from the front and went over the front bumper, again, the airbag wouldn't deploy.
this is telling u that a fault has been detected in the airbag circuit by the airbag diagnostic monitor module (system is disabled when light is on), the most common cause is the rotating ribbon contact called the clock-spring contact has a break in it's circuit to the airbag on the steering wheel.
