Rear hatch wont open with remote or close by pushing the button on the hatch. does anyone know how to fix this?

In my vehicle there is a botton in the glovebox that gets accidently switched off. there is a child safety button to prevent automatic door closing...highlander may have this switch as well.

Try "Power Door Off Switch" to left of change caddy.

I had the same problem in my toyota highlander 2008 and after reading the toyota's owner manual, I found out that there is a safety button in the dashboard to disable or enable it

Can you gain access to the latch mechanism from the inside of the vehicle. ie plastic cover of rear hatch ?

Maybe you can trip the mech to open from the inside.

2008hyundai veracruz rear hatch wont open

if it clicks when pushing button the lock is disengaging try providing a little pressure on door and have someone push the button it will probably spring open. the struts might not have enough power to pop it open

It sounds like a relay or interlock is bad. Get close to the hatch and listen for a click sound while pushing the remote button. If you don't hear anything, it will be the relay under the dash or the wire has disconnected from the interlock.

2005 Buick Rendezous rear hatch will not open with touchpad but will open when you push the rear button on the keyless remote

If the remote opens the rear hatch your problem is likely the button on the tailgate itself. I replaced mine on my 2005 about 3 months ago for the same fault.One problem you may have replacing the button could be that the screws are corroded and difficult top remove. Other than that it is a pretty easy fix.

The rear hatch on my 2003 Ford Focus wagon won't release from either the dash release or the remote on the key fob. Still opens with the key. The rear wiper stopped working at the same time. Also, light on...

Before doing any other troubleshooting on a 2003 Ford Focus hatch release problem, try THIS... The hatch release button is a triangle. Push the button on the very bottom point of the triangle. For some reason, mine did not work when pushed in the middle and only works when I push it at the very bottom point... slightly off in any direction and it does not work. Strange but true.
