1. With your car OFF, place your key in the ignition and turn to "On". Do not start the car.
2. Find the odometer button and press until it reads the total odometer setting, (not the Trip A or Trip B setting).
3. Turn the key to OFF.
4. Place your finger back on the odometer button, press and hold. At the same time, turn the key back to "On".
5. Hold the odometer button in until the MAINT REQD light goes out...should take about 8-10 seconds.

page 77 of the 2004 Lexus rx330 handbook...
(you will find the answer you are looking for in resetting your maintenance light.)
with the odometer reading visible, (not trip A or trip B..) turn off engine.

While keeping Odo/trip button depressed, turn ignition back on (not starting the engine) You will see dashes (instead of numbers) on your odometer disappearing one at a time. it will be replaced by 0's (zeros).. Release the Odo/trip button and your original mileage will come up....
And your done..... until the next oil change.

Thank you for using fixya and good luck

Unplug the battery for twenty minutes, unless it needs maintenance, it will stay off

but if trying to pass emissions i would just have it checked out or have some one check the codes for you

Tune up for a 2005 lexus RX 330

1. get oil and filter change every 8000 km by using good quality synthetic oil.
2. regularly change air filter especially if driving on dusty roads.
3. keep tires seasonally rotated and check tire pressure regularly.
4. Top up all fluids. Dirty fluids should be replaced.
5. keep an eye on brakes
I follow this PLUS the Owner`s manual on maintenance. It should help.

I have a 2004 Lexus Es 330 and the maintenance req light is on it has 51,540 miles

This should be reset when the oil is changed [ you may be due for service ]. to reset make sure the odometer is set on total miles, make sure the key is off, push on the reset button, turn on igntion key keeping your finger on the button- the mileage numbers will be replaced by a groupe of dashes, they will go out from left to right. Once all are out you should hear a chime- it's reset.

Maintenance schedule

The lexus 2004 RX330 owners maual doesn't have the maintenance schedule in it. No charts, no recommended replacement of parts, fluids. Where do I get the RX330 maintenance schedule? ...and not just at what mileage service is due!

When should I change brake fluid on my RX 330?

brake fluid is only changed when system maintenance is performed and fluid lost, there is no service interval other than a regular level check.
