Question about 2004 Lexus ES 330
Is there a step by step solution for replacing the main beam halogin light bulb on the ES 330? Ive got the hood up and the wire disconnected but pulling the bulb out is not obvious since there is a rubber shroud over the bulb and no obvious way to remove the shroud.
The bulb is held in place by a wire capture that hooks under a small metal hook on bottom of housing. The rubber shroud or boot needs to be pulled off first to expose the bulb and intermittent socket that actually holds the bulb. To remove the bulb push the wire capture (the end that is looped) toward the front of the car and then to the side to disengage the wire from the small hook, be sure to note the position of the plastic socket that the bulb plugs into as it only fits one way.Notice the tab on the bulb base faces up. The bulb does not fit snugly in the headlight socket, it is held in place entirely by the wire catch.
