Question about 2005 Lexus ES330

Trunk does not open with button inside car. Does open with key remote. Is there a bad fuse somewhere and if so which one?

Your Valet cancel switch is set.

Open your glovebox and you will see a pushbutton on the the left side, if memory serves. When this button is set, the power button will be disabled, but the key fob button will still work.
This is for when you Valet your car, you push the cancel button in the glovebox, lock the glovebox, then give the Valet your Valet key, which will not open the trunk or the glovebox. Voila, no Valet rummaging through your trunk :)

Often full gloveboxes will be the cause of the button getting pushed accidentally.

Maybe previously someone in your car has pushed the knob button inside of your glove box by accident that has disabled your trunk button, therefore Open your glove box, and you will see the knob button in the left side of the glove box, press in the knob button in order to activate the trunk button underneath the dashboard.

The remote will not open trunk or doors and can not open the trunk from the inside of car

Remote could have a bad battery. You could have a blown fuse. Does the door unlock switch unlock doors? Can you hear the trunk solenoid when you push the inside unlock button? If not, and no blown fuse, could be a bad trunk solenoid. Could also be a bad remote entry module. Have someone check for computer error codes that might point to trouble - Stores like AutoZone will check your computer for codes for free.

The trunk release buttons on my 1995 Olds 88 starts the car but does not open the trunk!

Seems to me the auto start and your factory key fob have the same freq. if it is a factory remote start there is something crossed somewhere. You should be able to find a disconnect switch for your remote start somewhere( in fuse box area or underneath the dash) once found follow the wire to the remote start receiver. Visually check wires and try and get a make and model number of the remote starter. Google the wiring diagram for that type of RS.

well you could unplug the actuator so it does not do it as a temp fix until you figure which is causing it . yes it could be a short but it also could be your remote controller is bad and that button contacts .if you have more then one remote try using the second one and going for a drive and see if it still does it .Now if you dont have a second remote try to see if you can pull the battery on the remote and then drive .

If it has the electric trunk release, the button could be in the glove box.
Otherwise you may have to remove the back seat to gain entry to the trunk.

Trunk release will not work in 1999 clk 430

Try checking to see if it has released buttons on the back top passanger seats.

I have an 06 impala and the TRUNK WON'T OPEN. It

you have a fuse for it ,check the fuse box ,it might not say trunk on fuse panel, you might need to pull those fuses out one by one checking each one to see if blown, if the center between the two sides are broke the fuse is blown, hope this helps you, thanks robert b.
