First thing to check out is if your third brakelight is working, replace the light bulb if it is not working and the cruise control will work again. If your third brakelight is ok then next check and replace the fuse located underneath the drivers side steering wheel. If the fuse is ok then you will need to replace the cruise control module located under the hood on drivers side.

I check all the fuses in the fuse box and they were al lgood besides it wasn't a dead battery
is there a seperate fuse for the cruise control. By the way I'm an x auto machinist and transmisssion specialist also a young 82 so I can't get under the dash and look for problems
Probably a fuse is blown in the Power Distribution Center. Also Sounds like your alternator is broken so it isn't charging the battery therefore when the battery ran out of juice everything stopped. The culprit is your alternator. Have that checked .
I check the fuse box.and the battery is not dead and the alternator is putting it out it required current.
in my 82 years I have done mechanical, auto machine shop work and last Transmission specialist.
Is there a seperate place for a fuse for the cc
My problem wasn't solved and i haven't herd further on my comment
