Behind the large pulley at the lower part of your motor. You have to remove the belt and then loosen the large bolt that holds it in place. Use a pulley puller to remove the harmonic balancer. With that off, loosen the screw that holds the bracket to the mount. Position the new bracket on the mount and tighten. Be sure that the gaps in the new sensor are postioned correctly. Replace balancer and belt and you should be good to go.

Where ie the 2 crank sensors on a 1999 buick century with 3.1 engine

  1. Crawl under the front of the vehicle and look up at the back side of the engine. The crankshaft position sensor is made from black plastic and has a two-wire connector attached to it. The sensor is located on the back side of the engine block, halfway between the oil pan and the top of the block.

have a great holiday !! they only use one sensor, a 3x or 24x. above is for 3x sensor, to replace 24x just call an auto parts store and they should tell you the location and how to change it.

My 92 century 3.3l stalled on way home and i let it sit for about 10 mins and it restarted and I made it home. I replaced fuel pump but the very next day stalled again. what should i do....

did u test the fuel pressure before u installed the pump? it is more likely the crankshaft position sensor on the engine is defective, run a trouble code test and see if u have any codes for thei sensor. Go to this web site to read how to run a trouble code test.

Canshaft sensor location

Hello, the camshaft location on a 3.1 is located under the power steering pump. The crankshaft position sensor is on the back of the block above the transmission, middleways of the motor.
