I had this same problem in my 94 maxima. Everything tested good. I even had 12 volts in the socket.

The problem is probably the HEADLAMP TURN SIGNAL SWITCH
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360211154935&crlp=1_263602_263622&ff4=263602_263622&viewitem=&guid=a8900bac1290a0aad0c067c0fdf338cc&rvr_id=&ua=%3F*F%3F&itemid=360211154935
you use to turn on the headlights. There are contacts in there and they wear out. You get 12 volts using a voltmeter because that is at low current (milliamps)/high resistance. Headlights are high current (a few amps)/low resistance.

The cheap fix is to remove the lever that controls headlights/blinker from the steering column (very easy). There is a white box that the contacts inside. You tan take a small file and clean up the contacts and get a few more months use.

Or buy a new headlight/turn signal control arm. You can buy used but you may have the same problem.

You should pay about $70 for a new one.....below is a decent link - there is no picture but google HEADLAMP TURN SIGNAL SWITCH if you are not clear what I am talking about.

Check headlight's fuse and relay respectively.
Also check headlight connector's ground and power.

High beam headlights stuck on replaced switch same problem

It can be issue with headlight switch, but as its already been replaced.Try disconnecting high beam headlight wiring from headlight assembly and reconnect direct external wire from headlight switch to headlight assembly, then by switch see if headlight is getting off and turning on or not.

Low or high beams do not work on drivers side nissan 2000 maxima

Check the headlight plug first, see if you have 12 volts and a ground when the head light is turned on. You may just have a burned headlight connector.

Low beam head lights not working - The low beams, both stopped working. The high beams work fine. I checked the fuses and all 4 are good. I even swapped the low and high beam fises just in case. No...

if the fuses are good then you need to check for power and ground at the headlight plug that attaches to the headlight bulb if you have a good power and ground there and the connections are good then the bulbs are both no good.or if you can tell the bulbs are burnt out by looking at them then you don`t have to check powers and grounds.you also can directly feed power and ground to the bulb and check both the terminals for high beam and low beam as you cannot tell which is which by looking at the terminals

Low beam not work !!

replace the headlight bulbs. Usually when the bulbs blow out the low beam blows out first, but the high beams still work. If you want and need both low and high beams to work then replace the headlight bulbs with brand new ones and I garauntee that both low and high beams will work
