Steering wheel locked. How do i unlock it?

The fuse box is under the dash on the drivers side mine is on the left side of the steering wheel.

Replace the pump and/or the rack and pinion.

the steering lock has jammed up with old age and use no doubt ,it should be fairly easy on this older car ,then just cut the steering lock off and put a new one on

Try wiggling the steering wheel while turning the key. If that does not work the locking device has broken apart inside the column and will need to be town down to inspect

have you tryed to turn the steering a little bit, at the same time turn the key.

When you try to start the car does the key seem stuck, not turning? Occasionally I have to turn the steering wheel just a little before the key will turn. Always try to straighten your front wheels when you park before turning off the car, this puts less strain on the locking part of the steering wheel and makes it easier to start the car next time. The serious part of a steering wheel is the air bag, do not try to disassemble the steering wheel yourself, you may want to take it to a mechanic you trust in case an interior part of your steering wheel needs replacing.

u might have locked the steering wheel which wont let the ingnition turn.

1-have wheel blancing.
2-check front wheel rim any damage
3-have same front tire
4-check your drive shaft
5-also steering joints
6-check your suspention
