dont take soo much in consideration after you have make all this things, some time is on only for any wire faulty, or a shrt electrical arc in any place in wire system. ask auto tap mechsnics for this maybe they have similar case before.

switch, we run off snitches. 171 174 banks 1 & 2 Lean. Most likely cause are Upper Intake Manifold Gaskets, failed seals. It's not 1990 on. It's 1996 and on OBD2.

The intake manifold gaskets are the most likely cause of your problem. Have the fuel pressure tested also.

MAF mass air flow sensor. its on the air filter box, make sure its clean and the filter is in. Also make sure that the pipe is not cut or ripped, it seems there is more air going in the engine passed the MAF

Hello I have a1999 Camaro v6 3.8 the check engine light came so had a friend put on his computer it came back with code P0102. I took it to the shop and they put a brand new MAFsensor 174.19 and labor...

Did your shop show you a Print out of the OBDII scan to back up their repair recommendations. If a shop is charging more than 100.00 they need to prove the diagnosis or warranty the repairs.. A dirty air filter can put the MAF sensor out of range. get them to Translate any codes present on the fault history, Then delete the stored fault history. Recheck OBDII for current faults. Let the print out be your guide to parts replacement to avoid parts you don't need. The only sensor that is prone to physical wear (1999, Old age) is the throttle position sensor(TPS) and possibly The oxygen sensor (O2 sensor). they are relatively cheap and should be replaced due to age. Install a new air filter and new fuel filter (cheap) and go from there.

take the vehicle to AutoZone and have them read the OBDII code in the computer so you actually have some idea what might be wrong instead of guessing

2002 impala 3.8L 180,000kms. Having problems with car hesitating on acceleration(not all the time). Had maf sensor & idle air control sensor replaced recently. Fuel filter, air filter, new plugs &...

it is possibly the throttle position sensor(tps) malfunctioning. basically the computer or "brain" of the car thinks the throttle is in a different position than it really is and automatically makes adjustments to fuel, air ect.... based on these false readings from the sensor thus causing the engine to react a little different when you expect to have power.

Had codepo101 , replaced MAF sensor, cleaned air filter. ran it fora couple miles , service engine light came back on . code po101 back. any ideas??

First make sure the air filter is new or at least clean. If you are using an aftermarket enhancement air filter (like K&N) make sure it isn't over-oiled (the oil will affect the sensors in the MAF) (mass air flow), and contaminate the reading of air volume going to the engine. If the ECM can't monitor or regulate the air flow it will set this code and ignore the input form the MAF. In some cases the MAF wiring was to blame, bad connections, or corrosion.

Service Engine soon light came on. Scan code

If it has been serviced correctly just take it aback and ask them to reset the warnibg light. If they can't then you should chose another garage to service it.

Fault Code reads MAF Sonsor even after replacing the part

It is very possible that you have an open circuit in your connector. I do agree that aftermarket parts have different resistance valves than the OEM, but in this case I think you have more of an electrical problem than a parts replacement problem. Check continuity from the MAF connector to the ECM. Make sure you clean out the air cleaner box and install a new OEM air filter. Aftermarket filters don't alway fix properly and can leave an air gap around the filter. This can allow debris to enter the engine and also contaminate your MAF.

Check engine light is on,codes 171,174,system lean, codes came back as 2 oxygen sensor's before cat/conv,do they need to be replaced or could it be something else causing it, any help would be great!!!

O2 SENSORS ARE BAD MOST LIKELY I WOULD CHANGE THEM DISCONNECT THE BATTERY FOR 5 MIN. ( IF YOU DONT HAVE A SCANNER) THIS WILL RESET YOUR COMPUTER AND SHOULD MAKE THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT GO OUT.
