Hi, Sorry your having problems.
The first thing we can do is check the fluid level.

Please start the engine - let idle and then -
1-open the hood and
2 wearing gloves - pull the transmission dip stick out and look closely at the fluid level.

If this gets you going - drive to the local parts house and have the do a code reading - this is done for free by our Advance Auto stores here.

Best of it.

My jeep chrokee 2.7 crd wont shift when i drive it only uses 1 gear

The transmission is probably in limp-in mode, and should have an associated check engine light code/DTC. Something like that can be based on sensor issues or an actual problem inside the transmission.

93 jeep grand cherokee starts up and idles low. When you put it in drive or reverse it stalls out. We changed the throttle body positioning center and other things. if you could please get back to us as...

If you have changed all of these parts, being that they are electronic you need to disconnect the negative battery cable for approximately 30 minutes to allow the computer to reset itself and clear any codes that might be in the system. If you have any further questions be free to call me at 601-270-4309 central time.

Transmission issues (I think)

Use a engine scanner to pull codes, If none it sounds like the lock-up torque converter may not be disengaging at idle. Or you have a idle air control valve or TPS going bad, then repair codes by replacing failed sensor or shift control solenoid as needed. If no codes are present your transmission could have a internal failure. It's also been know that oil transmission fluid in the system will have a higher fluid retention causing the 2nd gear solenoid to stick causing the transmission to stay in second till the line pressure rises and drops back to first with a hard shift. Keep me posted be glad to get your transmission running again

Transmission and idle

the first it sounds like a clogged fuel filter or a vacuum leak or a leak at the intake manifold gasket and the idle speed control is incorrect.
the transmission it maybe low on fluid or need a tranny service: new fluid and filter

1997 Jeep 4.0 auto transmission

Yes you have a Transmission problem that is only going to get worse.
There is nothing to do now that will solve this problem. You can pull the dipstick and look/smell the fluid to verify this but unfortunately the only thing to do now is have the transmission rebuilt/replaced.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
