On my 2003 Honda CRV Sport, When I lock me steering I get a grinding noise, does anyone what this is? Cheers Alan

By lock, do you mean when you are turning very tight? if so then your CV joints are probably worn out.

If the noise only occurs at full lock then it is the pump clutch slipping which is normal.sounds awful but okay.

U have jammed steering which could be as dangerous as anything while u r driving. even if u get it fixed the issue will keep cropping up in the future. get rid of ur age old crv and get a brand new honda crv 2012. this is the best crv of all times.

Can stationary lock to lock steering stretch or damage a cv joint or drive shaft. One person told me it could. Cause I tend to do this an awful lot when getting out of parellel parking spaces. Sometimes...

There is nothing to "stretch" in a CV joint. This is a sliding joint and no it can not be damaged by cycling the steering from lock to lock. The boots can be damaged by high speed rotations at either lock.

Your other symptoms are unrelated. I can not pinpoint the issue as I can not see the car. Your clang sound could be a simple as a loose heat shield on the exhaust.
