My car died, started up for 2 seconds then dies again. i have a ice chunk hanging from my ecu harness. a few wires broke, i fixed them and now i have nothing. i did some looking and i have no power to the fuel pump. no power at the relay or at the connecters themselves. fuses and relays are good. i also replaced the ecu. any help?

one problem you put in a 16v engine over the 8v engine harness. and let me guess, a new ECU? post the full facts, nobody in this world can guess that. its a custom setup.. but both ECUs cut fuel for 2 reasons. (firmware inside ECU) 1: TPS stuck wide open throttle, or its ground wire cut) 2: ECU thinks there is no spark, tests (a:tachometer dead, cranking? 4wd cars have this tach. b. insert the diag jumper (in DLC ) paperclip. then crank for 5 secnods and the ECU will tell you why, no kidding , it will. see code 41 or 42, then bingo. it told you.
my guess is its #2 due to missing sparksupressor, device.
we've done many like this. post here http://w w w . fixkick.com/bbs2/Suzuki-bbs/forumdisplay.php?fid=2 or see no spark page here. no spark total or got spark for only 2 seconds, see test 1 here http://w w w . fixkick.com/IGN_timing/no-spark.html and last the missing supressor here http://w w w . fixkick.com/IGN_timing/slideshow/images/Supressor-8v-1w.jpg
could be a wet ecu.
i have an e36 and these units get wet and fail, false readings, sliggish performance...till they blow up...
check the notes below
the ecu compartment is under the windshield on the passenger side on E36
you gain acess to it under the hood....
this compartment gets wet, the ecu lays on a flat surface in that
compartment.
the bottom side of the circuit board gets wet and starts corrosion.
remove the ecu, take the bottom plate off, clean the bottom of the circuit
board with alcohol and a soft tooth brush.
you should be able to see the signs of corrosion or conductive build up.
this gunk bridges solder points doing all sort s of wierd things to your
car, including false sensor readings from asc/abs controllers and other
sensors....
all the way to engine failure and worst case burnt and shorted wiring
harness.
I'm on my 3rd ecu, took me and the repair boys a few years to figure this
one out.
BTW: i would get that ecu mounted above that flat surface, use some sort
of standoff to raise it so that it is not laying in the wet.
Yes I had the same problem. The wires that plug into the sensor at the catatytic converter were rubbing against the drive shaft untill they finally wore through causing the short against drive shaft. repaired wires and it fixed everything
3 things could cause it 1st fuel filter, 2nd sensor 3rd catalytic converter is plugged up,, if 3rd get a hammer and bang it hard a few times to release some of the chunks loose ,,
