Driving at steady speed, my 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee will lose accelleration. I have to push down on pedal 2 or 3 times then it will lunge forward, as if something was sticking. Could this be a clogged gas filter or what?

I think you are on the right track. I would certainly replace it and see if it works. It's worth a try.

I have a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 that doesn't overheat but acts like its not getting fuel sometimes. There is no consistency to when it does it, it does not do it all the time. When you push down...

Your indications sound more like a clogged fuel filter or intermittant fuel pump. But it could also be your air supply! When was the last time you changed your air filter and fuel filter. I would start with those two first and then check the fuel pump.

My 95 Jeep GC had a similar problem when I was doing a lot of driving on dirt or gravel roads, and I had to blow out the air filter (with compressed air) often to clear the problem.

Runs good most of time,but sometimes it feels like it loses power but if you let off gas or give it more gas it straightens out and runs good until it gets to cruising speed and then does it again.

Sounds like a fuel filter. Question - When was last healthy tune up? Plugs, wires, All filters especially fuel filter? I'd start there and then run a good fuel system cleaner through it. Ut'll give you a good "ground zero" point if problem continues.

Loud whistling noise while driving.

I think there is a TSB on that problem. If the wind is coming from the passanger side then roll the window all the way down. Put a 2X4 in the door jam. So the 2X4 will be inbetween the the door and the jeep. Push on the top of the door like you are trying to close the door. What you are trying to do and slightly bend the top of the door toward the jeep. But just do it a little at a time.

1995 Grand Jeep Cherokee

The lower speeds are controlled by a resistor block. That's what needs to be replace. It's usually located next to the blower. It will have electrical wires connected to it. High speed bypasses the block so it alway works.
If you want to replace it then;
) Disconnect the battery negative terminal if the vehicle have air bags. Wait 2 minutes for system to discharge.
) Remove the kick block on the passenger side. )Remve the glove box ) Remove the bolts holding the blower motor resistor. Push the red lock up and press down on the click ) Pull the block out. ) Install new block and reverse steps above.
