You need to know whether the distributor is at fault or not and that means carrying out a spark power test immediately the engine stops, though if the engine starts immediately after stopping that will be difficult.
It is also more difficult to advise you because you didn't include any details of the type of electronic ignition fitted - magnetic, hall effect, lumenition, tac or capacitor discharge, though if the spark is still present when the engine stops it isn't likely to be an ignition fault.
Could be several things. Bad coolant temp sensor could be causing engine ECU to think it is warmed up when it is not. Other sensors can be good enough to start the engine, but fail almost immediately as the begin to heat up--think coil/ignition module--crank or cam sensor.
this could be a symptom of a failed or failing antitheft system. one symptom is this. "engine starts for 2 to 5 seconds, then stalls". This will be followed by a light on the dash that says SECURITY. If you see this, go to this link for help.
I had same problem when I had a plain copy of the key made.
There's a proximity chip in the factory key or something, but the plain copy would not work. Engine would crank, then immediately stop. I didn't need the extra key bad enough to spend $80+ at the dealership.
