My 2005 Chrysler Pacifica automatically dies as soon as I shut the car off, but will start once jumped, it has a new battery....what is the problem?

Can be loose battery connection,or weak starter motor/solenoid.Sometimes new battery even comes weak/faulty.Get the battery bench tested at local car garage.

Car will start to chugg and then die and sometimes wont start , engine light comes on when this starts happening

Get the vehicle scanned,there is error code stored in ECM,that code will tell what part exactly to look,for:----

Car will start for a few seconds then dies.

Still sounds fuel related to me. Getting minimal fuel enough to start & or rev, but not maintaining proper pressure required. Try this. Get a can of WD-40 ready, remove air intake hose at throttle body. Start car & when it starts to begin to die, spray some WD-40 into front of throttle body & see if engine continues to run, as long as you keep giving it squirts of 1-2 seconds. If it does, change fuel filter first, but be prepared to do pump too. If you can get a fuel pressure test done on it, that would be even better. Let me know what happens.

Will it stay running if you keep the pedal depressed. If so you have a Idle Air Control valve issue. If it wont run at all it may be a bad fuel pump

Well to tell if its a fuel pump unplg the fuel line and crank. If nothing comes out you know the pump is not doing anything. Could be a bad pump or you lost the ground or the power to it, Try adding a little fuel or brake clean down the throttle body. If it starts and stays running while adding a little more fuel then you will know its a fuel issue. Some of these earlier cars have a relay or fuse. check the fuse box under the hood and in the car. If you have a manual in the glove box this may tell you what fuse to look for. Or just check them all and replace or rotate a good one in if you find a blown one
