Starting car in garage turns on headlights which makes believe it is dark out and therefore dims dash lights. When car is out of garage it switches to running lights which allow dash lights to get brighter. I guess I should have figured that !!!

Batteries dead...no beeps, drained! I had optima batteries ($468 worth) that we're two months old. Replaced optimas and the truck started up fine. 4 hours later the EXACT same thing happened.

Sounds like you have a draw on the batteries. If your alternator has grounded a diode it will suck the power out of your batteries in no time. Easiest way to tell is to pull one of your negative battery cables and put a test light between the cable and the battery post. If you have a bright light on the test light, you are pulling a large power draw. You should have a very dim light as the only power draw should be coming from the clock, radio memory, and alarm. If you do have a bright light on the test light, remove the power cable to the alternator. If the light goes dim, you need to replace your alternator. If it stays bright, you still have a large draw, but now you need to track down the short. You can pull fuses in the distribution center one at a time until the light dims, this will tell you what circuit has the short. But you will need to trace the problem to find what needs fixing.

2002 buick lesabre instrument panel lights dim. Dimmer switch has no effect. Dimmer was replaced.

This is more than likely an internal fault in the instrument cluster since the other lights stay bright and you can control them. I suspect that you may need to remove the cluster and have it rebuilt to cure this problem

2005 buick lacrosse cxl... dash lights and interior lights are going dim to bring to dim to bright very rapidly

First, check that the battery connections are clean and not corroded. If not look for the ground wires that connect to the chassis. Check to see if any are corroded or loose. Finally if that has no effect, you have a short somewhere in your wiring. The easy way to isolate it is to pull the fuses for each device one by one and see if the dimming stops. The last one to cause the dimming is the problem. If it happens when you hit a bump it also might be a ground fault in the interior car grounds....good luck!

If the battery is draining when the car is off most of he time it is from eather a light on the you may not be able to see like a glove box light or a radio staying on

to fix this u will need a test light (borrow one or buy one there cheap if u dont have one)
disconnect the positive battery cable attach one end of test light to the positive battery post attach other end of test light to the disconnected battery cable if the light real bright start pulling fuses until the light goes out or goes real dim (the dim light is the draw from computer, radio, etc so small of draw wont hurt battery) once you pull the fuse that makes the light go dim or out check that circuit for short circuits

if when you put test light on light not on or real dim before u pull fuses you more than likely have a weak battery that wont hold a charge

2009 saturn hybrid dome ligh stays on

Forgive me if I seem to be over simplifying, but have you have you tried rotating the knob to left of the steering wheel (below the a/c vent)? If you rotate it all the way clockwise, it 'clicks' and the dome lamp comes on. Rotate counterclockwise and the dome lamp goes off and you adjust the brightness of the interior lights.

When I turn on the bright lights, one headlight goes out. when I turn off the bright lights, the other headlight goes out

you may need 2 light bulbs. check real close, if they go out compltely or really dim.... if dim, you have a ground wire issue, if they go out completely the bulbs are bad.
