Lost my ignition key, where can I get one? Dealership?

This isn't that simple. It can be done, However, the key you lost is programmed to that specific car. The key and ignition from the other vehicle is programmed to that other vehicle. It's a security feature to stop people using any key on any car. You would need to get the replacement ignition barrel programmed to the vehicle you've moved it to. This is normally a Dealership Only job so it will be Dealership prices so Expensive. It will be quicker, easier and a lot cheaper to just replace the lost key. Take all you vehicle documents to the dealership and get them to program you a replacement.

I think if you call the dealership with your vin number they can look it up and program the key for you. Sometimes the older vehicles the info get deleted. Its worth a try.

you dont have a lot of options , you could drill out the lock and get one from a junk car.

I lost my only key to my 2002 Chevy Venture Mini Van. I replaced the ignition switch. I followed the directions on how to program the new keys that came with the new switch and it didn't work. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do. Cant afford to take it to a dealership.

to reprogram new key first you need to use 2 factory program keys.place first factory key in the ignition first turn ignition on for 3 seconds. then turn off ignition then install second factory in the ignition on position for 10 seconds.when immobilizer warning lamp begins to flash a acoustic signal is emitted.within 60 seconds. switch ignition off and remove key.then insert new key and switch on for 10 seconds a acoustic signal is emitted and immobilizer warning lamp remain illuminated for 3 seconds indicating programming completed.if all fails dealership has to reprogram new keys.

I dont believe so. Your best bet would be to have it towed to a dealership and go from there
