2005 Silverado won't start

Assuming this is a crank no start, open the gas cap, put your ear to the fuel fill as close as possible. Have an assistant turn the key on, you should hear the pump turn on for approximately 2 seconds. If it does not, have the assistant crank the engine while you hit the bottom of the fuel tank with a hard rubber mallet. Sometimes this will jar the pump enough for it to run.

I have code p0449 what is the problum

p0449 is EVAP (Evaporative Emission System) purge/vent solenoid circuit condition

possible causes are-- purge or vent valves are defective, check connector and wiring, fuel saturated vapor canister, Failed EVAP vent solenoid. plus check all hoses good. check for a bad fuel cap seal. remove cap and replace it, erase code and see if it comes back. go to this site maybe it will help you. www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=40659

Check engine light on steady, and codes 0445 & 0449 from computer

The codes you list are generic and unfortunately the descriptions provided are too. Do a bit of research into the applicalbe parts and you'll likely find a trend of malfunctions and repairs for your particular model year. After that it's time to either get greasy or see the mechanic, doesn't sound like it will be too bad, though.

Engine Light/tighten fuel cap

Good Day,

Sounds like your fuel cap needs to be replaced, there is a rubber seal in there to which keeps fuel pressure up, when this seal goes bad you get a drop in pressure and your engine light will come on. Replace the cap with a new one. As far as your lighter ports that is probably due to a blown fuse and unrelated to the fuel cap issue.

Hope this helps
