Not positive but sounds like maybe gear shifter pedal may be one or more teeth off on those mounting gears if first is down one and neutral between upshift for second. Make small one tooth adjustments either way to find happy middle/neutral if shifter was removed.
your shifter needs to be adjusted no parts need it take it to a shop because they have to figure out if is in your shifter or in the transmission where needs adjustment more likely in your shift
If you mean the shifter is getting hard to move, its probably the shift linkage sticking, try a couple squirts of pblaster or other penetrating oil. If the motion of the vehicle is getting hard to drive in reverse and drive the torque converter may be the issue.
hello, check modulator valve, its on the side of transmissiom towards the back on passenger side, also check and see if your air line is hooked up to the modulator valve, lots of times if air line is not hooked up, it will not shift, or it will shift real hard, have to run motor at high rpm to get to shift, its almost like you put in a shift kit, thats bad on tranny, and check your linkage,. loosen linkage. put truck in netraual, and transmission in netrual also. tighten the bolt, check and see if you have all gears, if not, modulator may be bad or tranny
