My wife's 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo starts shaking when the car is turned on. The sound of the car is different, almost like put put put kind of sound instead of a normal smooth engine sound. When I accelerate the shaking and sound kind of goes away but almost immediately starts again at about 10mph. The steering wheel is not shaking it's the whole car. Any ideas?

Possible clogged fuel injector or bad spark plug? If it isn't firing on all cylinders it can shake. There are also numerous sensors that might be sending a bad signal to the engine computer that can cause it to run poorly. Had a bad sensor on a Ford once that caused the computer to feed too much fuel which made it run rough.

You probably have a dead cylinder. like if you have a six cylinder it might be running on only five. could be because of a bad spark plug, ignition coil, fuel injector, plug wire. you should get it checked out.

I have a 2002 jeep grand Cherokee Laredo 8 cylinder engine and it just started making a tapping noise when it's running. The oil hasn't been changed in awhile. Could this make a difference or any other...

yes it most certainly can, thick oil can block hydrolic lifters and make tappets become loose and even fail. that is a good start point because the next is a worn cam shaft

2002 grand cherokee laredo humming/grinding

sounds like you have a problem with one of your lines on your power steering or one of its components. the grinding noise could also be one of your pulleys that have gone bad too. check your steering assemby gear box.
