Does it sound like a soda can getting kicked across a driveway?
Take the belt off to see if it goes away. If it goes away, one of the accessory pulleys is the problem. If it still makes the noise with the belt off, you have a problem internal to the engine. Check the oil to see if it is milky, like water has gotten into the crankcase.

the noise sound like kickinga can down the drive way very loudly.
Need to actually hear the noise that you are hearing. I would take a stab in the dark in saying that your timing chain is on its way out (if it goes then it could cause serious motor damage). What size motor is it? 4 cyl, 6 cyl, 8 cyl? Please give more details
