You have a bad blower relay or power going to the relay. The blower relay is located to the right by the motor mounted on the firewall. It will have three larger wires from the relay and two smaller wires. you will need to unplug the connector and check the red wire for +12 volts. If it has voltage then replace relay. if connector looks melted or burnt change connector and relay together.

More then likely it's a resistor block, they tend to fail one step at a time like your's is.

The block is up under the dash, unfortuneately I can't show you, but your local garage, depending on whee you live shoudn't charge over $150 for the job, always ask for an estimate. Then check other garages to verify the cost.

I hope this helps you out.

Thanks for letting FixYa.com...fix ya

The actual switch is the culprit. Replacing this damaged resistor switch will correct this issue.

2005 Chevy astro van, 4.3L A/c, Blower motor,

It could be a bad blower motor - tap on the blower motor with the end of a hammer when you have the switch in the on position - if it comes on then it is a bad blower motor. If it doesn't come on I would check to make sure you are getting power and ground to the HVAC control head.

1998 Astro Van Heater AC Blower only works on medium & Low

Yes, in high it bypasses the resistor and uses a high blower relay. But I think on 1998 Astro the High relay and the resistor are built together. It should be mounted in the blower box real close to the blower motor.

Motor heater not working on low and sometimes on high

Blower/Heater Switch Operation: 0900823d8004c694.jpgThis electrical switch, located in a fuse or breaker protected circuit, controls the rpm of the blower motor through a series of control relays and a rheostat. Sometimes the A/C compressor clutch is energized by this switch.
