My 1992 corvette Interior light stays on

Can some one please help?

I have an intermittent fault with my 1992 Corvette
My interior lighting will remain on for a long period and then turn off ?
Other times it will remain on and switch off after the delayed time
(as it should)
Other times the light will remain on for quite a while before switching off?
I have tried switching the manual switch on and off but will not help
When the interior light does go off, the manual switch can turn the light on and off (as normal)

I dont think its the door switches
thanks heaps

I am not sure about the 1992 since they have newer dashboard than my 86.

Anyway, I got that same intermittent issue on mine, sometime the battery was drawn in the morning sometime not, very frustrating, until i noticed that the interior light sometime was not going out as it should after 30 seconds when leaving the car in the evening.

I eventually found the timer module after removing the upper dash pad, on the passenger side. The module was just partially unplugged. Put it back in and never got problem anymore (was 6 years ago).

The interior ligts on my 1989 corvette coupe stays on all the time

make sure the interior light switch is turned off so they only come on when the door is opened(this happens alot),the next thing is it could be a door switch that has a problem thinking its open.you could also have a headlight switch that has an internal problem like a short that is allowing power to the interior light wire circuit of the switch causing the interior lights to stay on.

Interior lights won't go off...........92 corvette

Check the door switch. Mine went out and I had all sorts of problems from intermittent interior light flashes, alarm going off when locked and interior lights going on and draining the battery.
The switch cost about $40 from the dealer as I recall.
Good luck!

Where is the courtesy light delay switch located on a 1992 corvette?

The courtesy lights as well as the map lights (located on the bottom side of the rearview mirror) will come on when you open a door (unless it's bright outside) and will remain lit for approx 30 seconds and then will turn off. This is verbatim from my '92 Corvette owners manual - The map lights can be turned on and off, but there isn't a delay switch, persay. Hope this helped.

Interior lights stay on where is the relay located

Three things run the interior light
the two door jamb switches and the control from the headlamp switch
One is at fault
The door jamb switch is usually the problem on most
Simply remove the two and see if they are stuck in the open position. You can also tell once they are unplugged if the light goes off as well with any switch you check

Is there a reset after I change the Battery on my 98 Corvette

Hello,
There is no reset button for your Corvette. You may have an issue with the security system. Check if the Security light is on or flashing while trying to start the car.
I hope this helps.

Thank You,

Reading lights won't turn off C6 2007 corvette

My C6 vette does this when I have pressed the little round buttons right beside those lights and forgotten to turn them back off. Try just pressing both of them (on both sides of the bottom of the rearview mirror) and then closing the doors.
