We recently lost the brakes in a 2000 Expedition 2 wheel drive. We replaced master cylinder, calipers, pads and roters. We bled all thouroughly several times thinking there was still air somewhere. Most recently the ABS motor kicked on and will not shut off. This should indicate it is trying to bleed itself, but it never shuts off. Peddle still goes to the floor. It will stiffen up when bleeding but goes right back.
1st i was not in the knowlege that fords used a ABS motor , instead they use a ABS bypass valve and for a 99 id say there only for the rear brakes (unless you got the eddie baur special) , if pedal is soft i suggest doing a vacume bleed (suck fluid out instead of a pressure bleed) on all four corners , also that year an model is over the world famous for having rear brake line rot off behind the gas tank (you cant see it) if your still running factory brake lines id bet you got a problem with them , dont forget to replace the rear axle hoses as well
There is air trapped in the portion valve read up on this autozone .com might have this in there repair manual if not usually ford has a electronic scan tool for this to reset it

All brake lines and hoses are okay. We did not try to bleed the cylinder before we installed it though.
Did you bench bleed the Master Cylinder before you installed it on the vehicle? All brake lines ,hoses OK, no leaks?
