notify dealer for location of security vin ----and need to notify local authority about missing vin so a replacement can be ordered and will need to have shop explain how and why removed
The two most likely locations will be on the floor between the door and the front seat, usually on the drivers side. there will be a little flap in the carpet hiding it. The other location is under the bonnet. Look at the back corner of the engine bay where the suspension strut bolts to the front of the car. the number should be stamped around the centre hole. (See photo).
There should also be a small 'VIN' plate riveted to the rear panel of the engine with all your vehicle information.

the fuel gauge will be controlled by the Illumination fuse , the fuse box is lower dash drivers side and the lid/cover should give the location , failing that disconnect the battery before removing instrument cluster and do it that way , keep me posted if you wish
