If there are cracks on the timing belt then it's time for replacement. I strongly suggest that you have it replace to ensure security. After that, take note of the timing belt replacement and you need to replace it every 100K kilometers.

It could have stripped out the cogs on the belt,and is just setting in one spot,or the belt has jumped .Just replace the timing belt,if this is the case,no harm done on this engine,just the timing belt.
