How to change the radiator on a 2004 pacifica

Drain the antifreeze or coolant and then remove any parts obstructing the removal of the radiator itself, the cooling fan, etc. Unclamp the top and bottom radiator hoses, remove retaining bolts and remove. Replacement is opposite. Refill unit avoiding air pockets by running heater while car warms up and you are adding coolant.

How to put antifreeze in 2004 pacifica

If the car has been driven recently, let it cool for at least 15 minutes. There is a silver cap on the right side of the engine compartment. Undo it with a rag to protect yourself from pressure build up in the radiator. Fill the reservoir up to the (cold fill line) and to remove air from coolant system, I believe you need a 10mm socket and an extension to barely loosen the air bleeder located on the back of the intake manifold (where the radiator hose goes to the engine) Hope all goes well for you

Radiator drain plug

The hose coming from the radiator cap neck should be routed into an overflow resevoir. This allows the coolant to escape when the engine is warm, and return to the radiator when it cools off.The radiator cap will bleed off when it reaches the set pressure(typically 16 PSI),and allow the coolant to be sucked back into the radiator by the vaccum created when the engine cools off.If your resevoir is missing or broken, get one at an auto graveyard(it'l probably be about 5 bucks). If you want a $0 fix,you can just put the hose into an empty plastic soda bottle(make sure the hose sits at the bottom of the bottle).

3.5L Engine

CAUTION Never remove pressure cap with the system hot and under pressure because serious burns from coolant can occur.

  1. Disconnect negative cable from remote jumper terminal.
  2. Drain cooling system.
  3. Disconnect radiator upper hose from thermostat housing.
  4. Remove thermostat housing bolts.
  5. Remove housing, thermostat, and gasket.

  6. Clean gasket sealing surfaces.

To install:
  1. Install thermostat and gasket into thermostat housing. For ease of installation, install bolts in housing for thermostat and gasket retention.
  2. Install thermostat and housing to the intake manifold. Tighten the bolts to 105 inch lbs. (12 Nm).
  3. Connect radiator hoses and install hose clamp.
  4. Refill cooling system.
  5. Connect negative cable to remote jumper terminal

I have a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica and my blower is blowing only cold air. The heat does not work.

Tenia, the most likely cause is that you are low on engine coolant. The coolant from the engine also runs through your heater coil. Check the coolant level when the engine is cool. There is a line in the coolant resevoir that says 'Cold Max'. Add the premixed coolant until you reach that line.

If that works, I would monitor the coolant level over the next few days. If it drops again, you likely have a coolant leak somewhere.

Do you put antifreeze in engine coolant yellow cap or radiator do not open hot cap of 2002 chrylser town & country van?

You can put it either one or both. If you can see coolant in the bottle with the "engine coolant" cap ( resevoir) then there is no need to open the other. Fill the resevoir to the full mark. If that bottle is empty then you can open the radiator cap ( do not open hot). Do it when the engine is cold because the antifreeze in the rad can be hotter than boiling water and is under pressure. When the engine is cold, turn the cap until it stops, then push down and turn a little more and it will come off. There is a safety tab on it to keep hot coolant out of your face. Fill the radiator slowly until the coolant is about 1/2 to 1" below the neck and reinstall the cap. Make sure you get it on properly, both safety tabs are caught and fully tightened or it may blow off. Then you can top up the resevoir too. Hope this helps.

How to do a coolant change for a altima 2004

Make sure the engine is cold before you change the coolant.
Open the hood, place a container under the radiator, and look for the drain-plug under the radiator. Remove it by turning it counterclockwise. Remove the radiator cap. Once coolant drained out, replace the drain-plug, and put in fresh coolant. You might also remove the coolant reservior and empty it.

2000 Lincoln ls overheating

There is a hose on the side of the coolant resevoir that has a straight blade screwdriver fitting in it. Open the fitting and this will bleed the heads on the LS. Without opening this you will never get the air out of the head, trust me.
