I would check age of battery. Batteries these days are made with cheaply coated parts and only last about 5 years. Many times a bad battery will over work the alternator making them go out. Since you have changed the alternator I am assuming that you checked and cleaned the battery connections.

I do suspect the battery, If the battery is new, then you probably have a short and that is hard to find. Check YouTube on that as it's a long process.
But go through this first, have you tried checking the alternator and making sure you are actually charging. Basically, start the car, then check the charging using a voltmeter on the battery posts. You should have 14+ volts at the battery when the car is running.
Also, Even a new battery can be bad. I would charge the battery up and then check its voltage (not connected to car) then let it sit overnight. Check voltage again. It should be very close to what it was the night before. If not, bad battery. If it's the same, then reconnect and start looking for the short.

2000 ford windstar...new battery, new alternator....still won't stay charged

Something is wired wrong draining electricity. Check the glove box light see if the radio works without the key. look for anything coming strait off of the battery not off of acc power. If it was a direct wire short out of nowhere the wire would have burnt up and been bare by now.Its somthing you have on or is staying on.

Check charging system and battery light on

Your altenator is not working. Or the altenator belt is broken.

Battery light stays on

start engine and get someone to hold rpm at 1500 then disconnect battery and if engine stops replace altenator ,if it keeps going then warning light control is U/S but to repair will nesitate removing the altenator and stripping it to change the brush /regulator unit and this can cost nearly as much as a recon altenator ,if it charges then leave it alone it could run for 50.000 miles or more like this

2002 ford windstar check charging system light stays on when i replaced the altenator and battery

Check all fuses, both inside and outside. Use a volt meter to check the output of the alt., by setting the meter to D/C/ volts, put the black wire on battery GROUND and the red wire on the big terminal of the alt.,,, which the wire is held on with a nut and washer, or a lock nut.If your reading is around 12.0 - 12.6,,, try another alt....
If the reading is 13.8 - 14.6 ,, you have a problem between the alt and the battery.
Hope this helps.

Ford Winstar ain't startin'

Yes the alternator you installed is fried. Take it back and then when you put the new one in disconnect the battery first before installing. If the battery is connected while installing it will ALWAYS fry the alternator. Most parts guys don't tell you that so live and learn. This should help.
