SOURCE: No brakes

1st. Did you bleed the Master cylinder BEFORE you installed the
Master on the booster?
You, need to bleed it on the bench. or you'll pump air into the intire
system.if you tryed to bleed at the wheels. The only thing you can
do now is JUST bleed bleed bleed to get all the air out.
NOW, If you bought a rebuilt master there are a few that, shoulden't
have been rebuilt their just no good even after the rebuild.
Be sure you got all the air out. and if the problem is still there
the master is NO GOOD.

SOURCE: How do I bleed master cylinder for 90 Toyota

You will have to bleed the whole system, front and back, start with the right rear, get somebody to pump the pedal, put a hose on the lock nut, catch the oil in a can, pump up the pedal, it won't get hard till a few times doing this, crack the bleeder, tighten it back up before the pedal is released, pump again, crack, tighten, pump, repeat, go all the way around the car, keep checking the reservoir, it will pump up soon enough. You might have to go around 2 or 3 times, Now,,,, the part about the pedal going to the floor and getting hard after car is shut off, sound like you didn't hook up the vacuum line to the booster. It has an atmospheric thing going on there. Check the big hose going into the booster, which is that big round thing behind the fluid reservoir. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: I have a 1992 toyota sr5 pickup 4 wheel drive. I

Some Toyotas need to be cross-bled. You should also check your bleeder valves to make sure you tightened them securely. Look for leaks at the master cylinder and possibly a rear wheel cylinder. Re-bleed the system.

My brakes pedal sometimes gets soft and goes right down getting no brakes while driving

A classic symptom of a bad brake master cylinder. An internal seal is leaking and won't let pressure build up when the pedal goes to the floor. It will only get worse until you have no brakes at all.

Soft pedal almost goes to floor

If you mean your brake pedal than you have air in the lines either your brake fluid is really low or work was done on the brake system and air was able to get in. also check all the lines and make sure there is not a leak somewhere this would also allow air into the system. You will need to bleed the brakes to remove the air once you have determined that the system is leak free.

It sounds like master cyl. is drawing in air causing prob. also another test would bee too bleed out and get pedal back, now step on pedal and hold firmly and see if pedal creeps near floor indicating innternal leaking in master cyl. also have some one pump bakes slowly aand look for air bubbles in brake res. after bleed out indicating master cyl. is drawing air upon release of pedal.

There may be air in the lines. Bleed all your brakes starting at the farthest wheel from the resevoir, and finishing at the closest one. Try the pedal after its bled. If the pedal still feels soft or travels to the floor there may be a pinhole leak that may be spraying on the underbody of the car, or the seals in the master cylinder are gone filling the vacuum booster(if equipped). Air compresses more than oil so if bleeding works that may be the problem.
