Or a whole quart. Just add 1/2 first, wait a couple of minutes, then check the level. Add the remaining 1/2 qt. if needed. DO NOT OVERFILL !!!

You have to remove the oil dipstick tube. Most are just pushed into the engine block with a o ring seal. With some effort you should be able to pull it directly out. Have you tried a bent coat hanger with a barbed end?
The procedure is easy the acessability may be the hard part.

The van must be on level ground while checking. after adding the correct amount of oil making sure to prime the oil filter before installing run the van for approx 30 seconds turn off and recheck after 1 min.
