There is no manual release switch for these, so this isn't going to be a simple fix. One way is to remove the interior switch and jumper across the pins inside the connector to get the electronic release to engage, and this will only work if the release solenoid is functional. Another would be to have a locksmith maintenance or rekey the lock. Most likely you will have to replace the the switch, release solenoid, or the lock.

If you get just a click you should first check battery charge and all battery connections. The click is probably the solenoid kicking in but without enough battery to turn over the engine.

Check and make sure your coolant is full. If it is there is a a sensor screwed into the radiator unplug it and jump the wires with the key in the on position. If the fans come on the sensor needs replaced.

the OBD II port is under the steering column, just above your knees-by law it has to be within a couple feet of the steering column.
