Hello Buddy, I have a 2001 XJR.
This is a very brought question. The engine not starting could have many....many reasons. From Security system to fuel pump and so forth.
Therefore it is hard to answer this.
The time I had it not cranking was because my alarm was still active

SOURCE: boot lid on jaguar xjr

There is no manual release switch for these, so this isn't going to be a simple fix. One way is to remove the interior switch and jumper across the pins inside the connector to get the electronic release to engage, and this will only work if the release solenoid is functional. Another would be to have a locksmith maintenance or rekey the lock. Most likely you will have to replace the the switch, release solenoid, or the lock.

SOURCE: 01' Jaguar XJR Starter location?

If you get just a click you should first check battery charge and all battery connections. The click is probably the solenoid kicking in but without enough battery to turn over the engine.

SOURCE: my radiators fans not turning on and the car keeps

Check and make sure your coolant is full. If it is there is a a sensor screwed into the radiator unplug it and jump the wires with the key in the on position. If the fans come on the sensor needs replaced.

I cant get my lincoln ls 01 to start, it wants to turn over but doesn't turn on, before the problem the car was making a loud knocking noise that got worse over time then the car shut off and wont turn...

Honestly, that sounds bad-loud knocking that gets worse, then no start-does it sound normal when it cranks? Does it crank freely? Is your battery in good condition? More information is needed...
