May be ab bad starter solenoid, or corroded/loose connection at starter, or (ground). Could also be a bad ignition switch. Start from the load; the starter. Test for 12V at starter, OK. Connect short wire from starter and touch sylenoid connection..
If you can hear a click (quite loud) from the engine compartment, but the starter won't crank, this also could be caused by discharged battery----------------------------------------------------------------------------- vas 5054a
That noise is probably the starter solenoid rattling because the battery charge is low. Start out with a jump or make sure the battery is fully charged up.
Listen for a click from under the steering column when you turn the key on. If you hear no electrical click then your ignition switch could be bad. If you hear an electrical click the you starter soleniod is bad.
Check tightness of the clamps on battery & make sure the earth cable is tight from battery to engine, also check tightness of nut holding the cable 2 starter motor if all ok there its most probably the solenoid on top of starter motor replace this with new all will b ok.
