Sounds like it could be the immobilizer of the security system. With key on, does the security light go off after about 5 seconds? If it stays on, probably the security system.
Another possibility is a weak or failing fuel pump causing low fuel pressure.

Check the fuel delivery, first. It could be fuel pump or an obstruction. The best way is to start the car in park, then run over to the engine compartment and rev up the throttle. Keep idle higher than normal. If it wants to die, rev throttle higher to compensate. If it makes no difference, verify fuel pressure when engine dies. Usually ignition related wont even allow the car to start. Any service engine indication?

It sounds like it may be time for a new fuel filter, try replacing the fuel filter first. The filter has a life of 30,000 miles or one year, if it has not been changed, good chance that it's the fuel filter. Take not that a dirty fuel filter will make your fuel pump run hotter and will shorten the life of the fuel pump which is the more costly repair of the two. run car and tap on the side of p.c.m. if car spuders idles funny. any thing out of ordinary . p.c.m needs replacing. it should be located in engine compartment where the air filter is
