Small but noticable power loss. Over the period of the last 3 to 4 months i have noticed a loss of power. Can you tell me what mite be the first reason for the power loss? I was thinking maybe it's time for a new cat or o2 sensors but i'm not a mechanic, or even close to being one.

Be sure the air and fuel filters are not restricted (repalce them).
Be aware that this has an interference engine and by time is due to have the timing belt replaced (though it should not have caused reduction in performance--they will fail and kill the engine through expensive damage).
It should have the timing belt replaced every 84 months or 105,000 miles which ever comes first.

I have put 6 liters of oil inthe truck in the last 2 months. Its not leaking out and not visibly buring the oil either. The truck runs good and doesn't seem to be affected by this. i just cant figure out...

the magic fairy appears to be at work ,if its not leaking then its burning it ,which means valves guides or rings are worn ,and with your enviromental disaster monster engine you would not notice the loss in power in such a small vehicle ,we pull 40tons of loaded truck here with a smaller engine in europe

No power, hard starts

Have you replaced the fuel filter, spark plugs and wires? A plugged fuel filter will cause a fuel pump to go bad because it works harder to pump. It also may cause less pressure. Plugs, wires cap and rotor will cause lack of power and fail you on a load if they haven't been replaced for a while.

Power loss while driving...

Not sure why yours lasted so long because I replaced the alternator in my '95 SL2 SIX (6) times before the engine self-destructed at 56,700 miles. They run hot because they receive little airflow where they are mounted and are physically too small to deliver the kind of power required of them.
Most chain auto parts stores will test your alternator free and I suggest you do that before growing more frustrated with it and possibly land in a dangerous situation caused by the failure of it.
