Common in these trucks. GM got a bad batch of stepper motors from their supplier. Not covered under any recall though. Check ebay for someone to fix, unless you're willing to soldier a motor onto a circuit board. $150 on ebay. Dealers will fix too, but well over $500.
Check the connections at the back of your instrument cluster. make sure nothing has rattled loose.
